Students participating in the My Familytree Storybook, Introduction to Basic Family History Workshop.
Students can opt to listen to the audio series. The audio series is convenient and not trackable or gradable.
During the Workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of Family History. Students will study various Family Structures, and how family structures affect our perceptions of family. Students will also learn Basic Interviewing Skills, as they interview their family members during the Workshop activity. In addition, Students will learn, why Family Narratives are important to families and how those narratives are passed from generation to generation.
Studies have shown that children who possess knowledge of Family History, tend to increase a positive sense of self-confidence, resilience, self-worth, and grit.
Module #5 in the Workshop is optional. Module #5 offers the opportunity for students to create an 8x8 hardcover family history keepsake. Access Module#5 in the Workshop for more information.
